To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter of reference with regard to Peter A. Murray, 54 Pamela Rd. Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567. I have known Peter for the past twenty-seven years. As his original martial arts instructor, I have seem Peter develop from a teenager to an adult. Peter has achieved the rank of 3rd degree black belt in the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation, having spent twenty years of dedicated training and development of character. His character is above reproach.
Peter was an assistant instructor at our school in Princeton, NJ for many years, working with adults and children. He was a favorite instructor to many students. Peter has completed his Instructor’s Certification under the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation. He is extremely well qualified to teach classes of all ranks.
Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com, if you would like further information.

To whom it may concern,
I am the owner and chief instructor of Wasatch Martial Arts Academy LLC (WMAA), an accredited martial arts school under the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation and have operated WMAA since the fall of 2007. During that time, I have gotten to know Mr. Peter Murray well both personally and professionally and would, without hesitation, recommend him to instruct children and adults in the Korean martial art of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan.
While Mr. Murray lived in Salt Lake City, he was the most senior student and my assistant instructor. He would teach regularly at least once a week and many other times by my side. He also was certified as “Kyo Sa” under my instruction. “Kyo Sa” is a title given to a certified martial arts instructor certified by the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation—the only legal entity authorized to give out Soo Bahk Do certifications and rank promotions in the United States. In order to achieve this certification, Mr. Murray regularly taught classes for me under my supervision as an apprenticeship. He then tested in front of a testing board of masters where he taught a kids and adults class. He then went through a physical demonstration himself to make sure that his technical ability was in alignment with the high standards of the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation.
Not only does Mr. Murray hold the proper certifications to teach Soo Bahk Do, but I consider him to be a great teacher and would love for him to return to Salt Lake City and teach at my school again. He was a true asset to our school and the students and I feel a real void with his absence. He is an extremely talented martial artist but also has a way of relating with the students and motivating them towards success. He is also good with kids and understands safety. His instruction includes Korean philosophy, which is the key towards a successful martial arts program that promotes conflict resolution, inner peace, and self discipline.
I am confident that wherever Mr. Murray teaches, he will be successful and bring a unique value to the local community. If you would like to speak to me in regards to Mr. Murray’s qualifications as a martial arts instructor, please contact me at 801-472-5428 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
